An obsession with formal wear ?

G's favorite toys at the moment are small penguins, and a tiny Sir Topham Hat figure. They have certain similarities, if you think about it.

Today, after J. ate two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in a row, I said to him, "Peanut butter will make you grow big and strong!" Then for some reason, I added, "I'm not sure what jelly does for you". J. answered, "Jelly will turn me back into a baby". It reminded me of what a magical place the world seems to be when you are three.

B. may be deciding to talk again. Yesterday he said "car" and "cookie", and (maybe) "yellow"! He has also started to say the names of letters again, every once in a great while. He has been all smiles today.

I remember the terror [for me] when we'd have a spate of 'words' and then they'd disappear for no apparent reason [or none that I was capable of figuring out] then he'd get another burst of them. The time intervals or gaps became shorter and I grew in confident and then there's be a huge gap and I'd panic! Even now when he talks so much more, he can still throw in a 5 hour gap - I just let him 'chill out' now.
Fortunately for everyone around here, I'm a lot calmer than I once was.
Best wishes

Ah! Sir Topham Hat is one of our favorite guys as well. I've always been bothered by how this poor man is treated in some of the stories. Have you noticed that sometimes he is referred to as "The fat controller". Poor guy!

Glad to hear B is speaking up!

Ah, the cute things that 3 year olds come up with! CR is the same way - filling in the blanks with his own cute ideas!

It is encouraging that G. has started to use some words again. You mentioned in a previous post about staying positive - I think that is so important. For all the language problems our kids deal with, I think they are very intuitive and can sense what we are thinking and feeling.

You are such a great mom to your boys! Best Wishes!
